Metro Exposition Light Rail Transit Project Design-Build

WES performed design surveys and construction staking of this design-build light rail project from the 7th Street/Metro Center Station in Downtown Los Angeles west to Venice Boulevard in Culver City. Our staff coordinated with the designer, contractor and other sub-consultants to insure accurate construction staking of 8.6 miles of the light rail project including, retaining walls, bridge structures and utility relocations. Monument perpetuation was performed by surveying and creating centerline tie sheets for future reestablishment. Detailed site-specific surveys at five station areas depicted all visible culture, contours, spot elevations, grade breaks, streets and railroad cross-sections. All utilities including sewer and storm drain invert data were collected. Survey, mapping and right-of-way engineering supported the design of aerial structures, stations and guideways as well as station area planning.
